The scenario in which Abe Mosseri and My Own Private Idaho are in will really get you thinking about all the Hollywood blockbusters and other great films he’s been in over the years. With Woody Allen, Julia Roberts, Ellen Page, Mark Wahlberg, and Peter Sarsgaard all on his own team, that just makes it more intriguing for the rest of us. It also has certainly given him the chance to work with some of the most beautiful women on the planet.
With a bit of a personal touch, he could have spent a lot of time filming poker and talking smack, but instead he decided to go all out. Everyone who sees the film knows that Poker Face is real, but many others may not believe it.
I know I was not convinced until I saw the film, but when it happened, I laughed out loud and then it was the first thing on my mind. It’s just too good to be true. I found out once I actually watched it, it was real, and many people commented on it as well. Here’s why this film is definitely something you should see.
Mosseri had so much fun on the set of this film, that he would not have missed it if it had not been shot. Some of the same stunts were used in the television series he starred in as well. It was just something that happened right before our eyes, so I was sure the film would be like that too.
I found myself rooting for Mosseri at the beginning and even on the end of Poker Face, and I loved the little details he included for the good acting. The poker chips, the glasses, the hole in the bottom of his shoes, the ridiculous wigs, and the eye patch were all memorable moments.
Although Mosseri was full of light and laughter when I watched the film, I couldn’t help but notice how much more serious he played poker than he did in the TV series. It showed a whole new side of him. It was that difference between the two. It really made me think about the differences between the movie and the TV show.
It was not long before I started getting calls from Mosseri asking me to join him on his next poker game. I was excited about being a part of it and still was because I was having such a great time.
During the first meeting of poker with Mosseri, he was still the same goofy guy from poker chips. He talked about how this was going to be the most exciting game of poker he ever played, and I can see how his enthusiasm was infectious.
I also noticed how much more serious he played poker in Poker Face. He even looked uncomfortable and scared throughout the entire movie. The movie really made me believe that he is now an experienced poker player.
He is a very outgoing man and you could tell just by looking at him and having him sit down with you at the table. He is much more interested in what you have to say about your game, and even when he is not betting, he is always interested in talking. It was kind of cute seeing him catch some of your conversation and put it into action for the sake of his own enjoyment.
Overall, I found it a great movie and Mosseri is one of the best actors of his generation. It was hilarious watching him in one of the funniest roles ever. I can only hope to see him in many more movies in the future.
Poker Face has definitely earned a place in my movie collection. If you watch it, you will not be disappointed.
