A Review of Poker – The High Stakes Game by Taylor Paur

Poker Articles

The author of Poker: The High Stakes Game has a brief review of the highly-praised action movie Taylor Paur. The screenwriter, Mike de Leon, has previously written the book Moneyball, which is about baseball players and the unique characteristics of their character. In his book, the ‘Moneyball’ ers are a group of characters who attempt to improve their team performance.

It is good to see that Taylor Paur is working on something similar. He is getting ready to make a film about poker players in Las Vegas. It is evident that Paur has the ability to write a compelling story with a story with significant and interesting characters.

Taylor Paur’s Poker is an entertaining action thriller. The screenplay perfectly captures the world of Las Vegas casinos with its fast paced and action packed story.

Poker stars Nicolas Cage, Christian Slater, Vanessa Williams, and Joel David Moore. Taylor Paur has followed a similar strategy in getting the major cast. Nicolas Cage has been quoted that he was in love with the story when he saw the trailer. But the two-time Academy Award winner has said that he had not yet read the script.

Nic Cage has played a wide variety of roles over the years. But no one can doubt his passion for the role of a poker player. “I’m excited about it, but I still don’t know the script yet,” he has told reporters.

Besides Cage, the film also stars Rachel Griffiths, Sam Neill, and Cody Filth. Filth was the head of a security firm.

Filth’s character is played by Max Von Sydow, a right-hand man ofCody Filth’s character. Cage was said to be thrilled with his new role because “it’s a serious role, and I just hope it’s as good as I think it will be.”

Kevin Dance plays the other main role in the film. Dance was probably the most well-known name in Hollywood for the last ten years and has a distinguished career on both stage and screen.

It is very interesting to note that this Taylor Paur project was inspired by an episode of the television show that Disney Channel produced. The real story of Taylor Paur is based on that episode. And the entire story also revolves around the poker game between Cage and Filth.

The similarities between Taylor Paur and Moneyball goes a long way to prove that the writer and director of Poker have also learned from the making of Moneyball. One major difference is that Taylor Paur deals with poker players in Las Vegas rather than baseball players in San Francisco. In Moneyball, the story was mostly set in San Francisco.

Though it may seem unbelievable, some critics have believed that the character of the fictional character played by Cage in the movie is basically modeled after Reggie Jackson of the Cleveland Indians. Jackson and his whole family live in a mansion in Las Vegas.

What do you think? Have you seen Moneyball? If you haven’t, then it is time to go watch it so you can enjoy the adventures of Casey Sketch and his family.
